Alright, so the story isn't that weird, but it's kinda cool. A few hours ago I went to my first home teaching appointment in a couple years. It was good. We home teach these two girls who are already graduated and like 27. But they're cool.
So after I got home I was on my laptop listening to my "Sunday music" playlist, and I noticed that the singer of one of my EFY songs has the same name as one of the girls I home teach. I wouldn't have thought anything of it, but she had told us that she is a singer/songwriter.
After some quick facebook and wikipedia research, I found out that it's the same girl. She's like, famous. She's recorded a lot of music and even performed at the Salt Lake Olympics. And she didn't even tell us! I've been listening to that music for years! For those of you who are interested and have heard EFY music, a few of the EFY songs she has sung include "The Light (Everybody, shine the light, don't hide the light!...)," "I am a Child of God," "I Know He Lives," and "I Need Thee Every Hour."
So, bottom line is, I home teach a famous singer. Pretty cool, huh? Oh yeah, her name is April Meservy. So that's my story for the day. ps - while I was writing this, the Gomez-Acosta family from Argentina called. I hadn't heard from them in a while. My Spanish is starting to struggle. They made fun of me. But it was really cool to hear from them. Mom, I gave them your email address, so if you get a Spanish email soon, don't delete it :)
Ok that's it. Bye.

How cool to rub elbows with someone famous!!! Even more cool that she didn't tell you all about herself on your first visit.
I won't delete any Spanish e-mails that I get, I'll have Mark translate them for me before I sent them on to you :-).
The first comment was from me, but after I hit 'post' I realized that I was signed in as Rachel, not me.
ummm...there was no elbow-rubbing involved. just home teaching.
